2027: SEASON EIGHT!

EIGHT YEARS OF

DEDICATION, EDUCATION, CREATIVITY & ARTISTRY!

Serving all size studios with our competitions and educational experiences, we love what we do here at DECAdance. We built our DECADistinctions based on years of conversations with studio owners and teachers, providing an experience for dance communities that includes the following:

  • DIVERSE FOUR-JUDGE PANEL: staffed with a combination of in-house DECAdance adjudicators and judges from Impact Dance Adjudicators to ensure expertise in every genre - tap, hip hop and acro included

  • GENRE SPECIFIC ADJUDICATION: proprietary scoring system with weighted technique scores from specialty judge in each genre

  • LIVE CRITIQUES FOR SOLOISTS: from the specialty judge designated to their genre

  • SKILL BASED LEVELS: determined by skillset rather than hours in the studio and monitored at each event by a fifth judge

  • SEASONED ROUTINE MONITOR: a fifth judge to monitor genres and levels and move routines as necessary (yes, we really move routines - with no penalty. This ensures the fairest competition for all, and ensures every dancer receives the best adjudication for them.)

  • DESIGNATED SPECIALS JUDGE: our Routine Monitor chooses DECA specific awards, FACES OF DECA invitees and crafts unique Specials on site for each event

MAKING LIFE A LITTLE BIT EASIER FOR STUDIO OWNERS AND TEACHERS

  • COMPLIMENTARY MEDIA: password protected media just for your studio, delivered in organized folders following your event

  • COMPLIMENTARY TITLE at regional events for Intermediate and Advanced dancers

  • COMPLIMENTARY MEALS: designated teacher/studio owner area with real meals, grab n go snacks + coffee

  • LIMITED CAPACITY EVENTS planned with intention and care to prioritize safety (and fun!) - no sunrise start times or late awards

  • O’MARA SPRUNG FLOOR: returning energy and momentum to dancers all day to promote safety and whole body health

  • UNIQUE SCHOLARSHIPS to our fall "un"conventions with live music and our industry networking event FACES OF DECA

  • TENURED, BACKGROUND CHECKED TEAM made up of dancers, artists and industry professionals who absolutely love what we do

WHATS NEW TO DECADANCE IN SEASON EIGHT?!

  • NEW SELF-CHOREOGRAPHY DIVISION: In addition to our Student Choreography category, dancers now have even more opportunities to explore their creativity and artistic voice.

  • SOLO ENTRY STRUCTURE UPDATE: Studios with over 100 entries will be limited to one solo per dancer, helping us create a more balanced and streamlined event experience for all attendees. If the event is not sold out, an additional solo may be added depending on space within the event.

  • STUDIO DIRECTOR AGREEMENT: A new agreement will be in place to ensure all policies are clearly communicated and understood, setting everyone up for a smooth and successful event weekend.

  • EVENT MINIMUMS: To maintain the high-quality experience you know and love, events will require a minimum of 185 entries to run.

  • NEW PAY IN FULL DISCOUNT: Receive 10% off your total when you pay in full more than 60 days prior to the event start date! (Please note this offer cannot be combined with other promotions.)

  • PETITE DIVISION ENHANCEMENTS: We’re lowering pricing for petite solos and removing live critiques to better support early development in order to give our youngest dancers a fun, encouraging introduction as they grow into the mini division.
